Is this a paint-by-number kit?
No. Paint by numbers tells kids exactly which color goes where. Guided Canvas encourages them to make their own creative choices while learning real painting techniques. Every finished painting is unique.
What comes with each painting kit?
Every kit includes a pre-sketched canvas, acrylic paints, brushes, and a reference image. We include everything your child needs to complete the painting.
What is a Guided Canvas?
A Guided Canvas is a pre-sketched canvas that helps kids start painting with confidence. The sketch removes the pressure of drawing so they can focus on painting, mixing colors, and expressing their creativity.
Why do some kits include 6 paint colors while others include 12?
Each Guided Canvas is designed individually. Simpler paintings only need a few colors, while more detailed artwork may require additional shades to achieve the finished look. Every kit includes exactly the colors needed for that specific design

Not at all. Guided Canvas is beginner-friendly and fun for more experienced young artists too. The sketch provides a helpful starting point while leaving plenty of room for creativity.
Will my child's painting look exactly like the reference?
Probably not, and that's what makes it special. The sample is there to provide inspiration, but every child will create a one-of-a-kind painting.
What about quality?
Every Guided Canvas is handmade to order in our small studio located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Your design is individually transferred onto a stretched canvas and prepared specifically for your order rather than mass-produced or pulled from a stack of pre-printed canvases. Because of this process, you may notice tiny variations from one canvas to another—they’re part of what makes each one unique.
Why are the sketch lines different colors?
We intentionally choose a sketch color that works with each individual painting. Instead of using the same dark outline on every design, we use a light color that complements the artwork and can be easily covered as you paint. A painting filled with lemons might have a soft yellow sketch, while a coastal scene might use a pale blue. The goal is to give you enough guidance to paint without leaving harsh outlines behind in your finished piece.
